The 64th Dramfool release is a first for us, a whisky from Colin’s home town of Craigellachie. Matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Quarter Cask for 15 years and bottled at cask strength of 53.8%, this whisky is bursting with sweet dark fruits. We are delighted with the result, a beautifully sweet unctuous whisky with NO SULPHUR!
Filled on 12/12/2007 and bottled on 14/07/2023 at 15 years old.

Craigellachie 2007
Cask Type - 1st Fill PX Quarter Cask
Strength 53.8%
Colour - Bright Golden Yellow
Aromas - Classic Speysider with a twist due to the cask capacity. It’s the spirit that claims the high ground and it needs a drop of water to really appreciate its quality. The crispy sweetness of the barley works well with the fresh fruity bouquet created by long fermentation and slow distillation and the small cask is providing a beautiful oak halo which is lovely.
Taste - The satiny texture is biscuit sweet with a fruity foundation. The little cask is providing an opening for the malt and the quality of the distillation to shine, it’s truly delicious! At 15 years old the oak and the spirit have produced something special; vanilla and dried apricot with candied almonds creating a spicy fruitiness to the lingering finish.
It’s a rare find, enjoy the journey.
