This special festival release from Dramfool was matured in a bourbon barrel for 12 years and then a portion transferred into an ex-Avian Gull Oloroso Octave for 3 years. A real curiosity, grain finished in an Islay sherried cask!
Distilled on 27/06/2007 and bottled on 28/06/2022 at cask strength of 61.3%
Tasting notes
Nose neat: Lemons, pineapple, gooseberries, vanilla, hot pine, wood putty, fresh figs, Ribena, clove oil and cream toffee.
Taste neat: Very sweet with a wisp of smoke, golden syrup, cherries and treacle
Nose diluted: Pencil sharpenings, vanilla, toffee, clove oil, wood putty, blackcurrants, cherries, pine needles and Thai custard apples.
Taste diluted: Sweet with treacle , cherries, red grapes, marzipan, lemons, red apples, vanilla and cherry bakewells.
