The 24th release from Dramfool is a rare cask of Lochindaal.
Lochindaal was distilled at Bruichladdich Distillery using barley peated to 50ppm phenols. Only 250 casks were ever filled with Lochindaal spirit making it very rare.
The whisky was matured in a first fill bourbon barrel and bottled un-chill-filtered at cask strength of 63.2% yielding 221 bottles.
Nose neat: Lashings of Germolene, pencil sharpenings, icing sugar, Bazooka Joes, raw beef, leather, sherbet lemons and lavender.
Taste neat: Pencil sharpenings, brown sugar, peat, smoke, stewed apples, golden syrup, BBQ pork, burnt twigs, creamy vanilla and marzipan.
Nose diluted: Sweet with a hint of Germolene, slight woody mustiness, pencil sharpenings, vanilla extract, creamy with butterscotch.
Taste diluted: Quite nutty, almonds, Bazooka Joes, brown sugar, green apples, heather honey, soft peat and cola bottle sweets.
