Tasting notes by Jim McEwan
Colour - Bright Luminous Amber/Honey Tone
Aromas - Rising from the glass like a walk in a woodland in June! It’s fresh, fragrant and full of the joys that only a spirit of this age and quality can provide.
The sweetness of the barley is engaging; butterscotch, honeyed almonds with a dash of lemon and at this age there is a floral overture of Riverbanks & Forest floors. Hints of pine, Daffodil, Primrose, Lily and Buttercup. It’s an absolute delight. The oak provides a halo in which the aromas become as one. The crispy biscuity flavours of the toasted barley is beautiful and you will also get that oaky/vanilla/nutty combination from the cask.
On the palate the ambrosial malt delivers in a big way. Flavours of toffee, malt extract, vanilla & passion fruit performing in a harmony that is unique to spirits of this age. The oak provides the stage and the Distiller provides the magic.
A genuine beauty from the Heart of Scotland.
