The 9th release from Dramfool is a 10 year old Bruichladdich matured in a bourbon barrel. A classic nice clean untainted example of a bourbon-matured Bruichladdich.
Distilled on 25th April 2007 it matured in Bourbon barrel #657 until bottled on 12th October 2017 at aged 10 years. Bottled un-chill filtered at cask strength 62.2% it yielded 258 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
Nose neat: Icing sugar, leather, blackcurrant, Horlicks and a faint hint of Elastoplast.
Taste neat: Sweet and malty (Horlicks) with a slight fruitiness - blackcurrant and gooseberry. Fizzy on the tongue with the merest hint of something medicinal and smoky.
Nose Diluted: Perfumed sweets (not Parma Violets!), vanilla, brown sugar and slightly dusty.
Taste diluted: Sweet and malty with a big mouthful of mixed fruity boiled sweets. Again tiny threads of smoke and Germolene barely make their presence known. Overall, very gentle, sweet and fruity with vanilla and malt undertones.
