Islay Whisky Festival Exclusive
The 14th release from Dramfool is a rarely seen independent bottling of Octomore. Distilled on 1st December 2011 and Bottled on 26th March 2018 at 6 years old.
The barley used for the distillation was peated to 150ppm phenols.
The whisky was matured in a bourbon barrel and was bottled un-chill-filtered at cask strength of 62.0% giving an outturn of 253 bottles.
Tasting notes
Nose neat: Very unctuous and sweet! Burnt twigs, smoke, Horlicks, barley, Germolene, icing sugar, old books and antique leather. Sherbet straws and McCowan's Toffee are present too.
Taste neat: Surprisingly sweet and gentle at first, then Germolene and pencil sharpenings appear, before a rush of burnt twigs and smoke.
Nose diluted: Pencil sharpenings, icing sugar, vanilla and Sherbet Fountain with a thread of smoke.
Taste diluted: Very sweet with vanilla, Creme Anglais, Germolene, Elastoplast, pencil sharpenings and lots of smoke.
