The 15th release from Dramfool comes from Islay's oldest distillery, Bowmore. Distilled in September 1996 and bottled in May 2018 un-chill-filtered at cask strength of 52.9%, matured in a refill bourbon hogshead with an outturn of only 299 bottles.
Tasting notes
Nose neat: Wood putty, marzipan with a hint of smoke and brine. Creamy, with grapefruit, lemon verbena and germolene.
Taste neat: Sweet with peat smoke, Bazooka Joes, pencil sharpenings, tropical fruit flavoured boiled sweets. The finish is quite dry and salty, but delicate.
Nose diluted: Very green with shells on beaches, Bazooka Joes, brine, salt spray. A light fresh grassiness like cut hay.
Taste diluted: Very delicate with light peat smoke, germolene and tropical fruit sweets.
