Dramfool's Middle Cut: North British 32 years old
North British Distillery in the heart of Edinburgh is a workhorse of the industry, able to produce some 73 million litres per annum! It also holds the unusual distinction of being the only distillery to have two corporate owners; Diageo and Edrington. no less.
One of our top two grain distilleries, with Invergordon, it also uses Maize as its main grain (with 15% malted barley) which we feel gives a lovely rounded texture and velvety mouth feel.
At over three decades old, the angels have had their fair share, and the cask only gave us 188 bottles at natural cask strength of 47.9%. It is a beautiful whisky with layers of flavour, but still subtlety showing how great grain can be. Don’t just take our word for it;

North British 1992, 32 Years old
Cask Type;Bourbon Barrel
Strength: 47.9% Abv
Colour - Primrose Yellow
Aroma - Beautiful aromas of both bourbon and honey blossom plus sweet cereals. Add a spoonful of vanilla & the sweet mellow notes from the oak. It’s a stunning mature spirit that leans to light citrus notes of lemon & lime all held in a cradle of sweet cereals & bourbon spice.
Taste - Absolutely beautiful. To find a 32 year old spirit in this condition is a rare experience. Enjoy its quality & the finish that lasts forever, outstanding!!
