We are delighted to have our second edition of the Dramfool’s Gold release finally ready for the world to enjoy. Fully matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, cask #661, 21 year old Port Charlotte none the less!!

This goes without saying, but let’s say it anyway. Look at that colour! Of course all natural!

This has been a hugely active cask imparting a wonderful flavour and sweetness from the Oloroso, and yet even after more than two decades, still retaining a strength of 60.5%.! While the angels didn’t take too much of the strength since 2003, they helped themselves to the liquid as the hogshead only gave up 142 bottles.

A wonderful whisky of which we were of course delighted to share and launch officially at Feis Ile 2025 where, no surprise!, it went down extremely well.

Tasting notes by Dramfool :

Nose Neat – Rich raisins, bursting with dark stewed fruit, and lashings of peat smoke.

Taste Neat – Wonderful! Huge hit of dark fruits and smoke! Smooth as silk at 60.5%!

Nose Diluted – Blackcurrants, heavy peat some, dark boiled sweets.

Taste Diluted – Unbelievable dram! Taste goes on and on and on…….
